DIY Glass Block Night Lights Using Holographic Paper

If you've been on Pinterest lately, you probably have noticed two things - there are a lot of crafts made using self-adhesive vinyl quotes or graphics, and there are a lot of clear glass blocks turned into night lights. So today we're happy to bring to you some of our latest DIY Glass Block Night Lights!  The cool thing about our projects is that we add a holographic paper to the front of the glass block which creates a cool effect - it's like the colors change as the light hits the paper. When the holographic paper is seen from different angles, it will appear in various colors, creating a glowing effect.

Vinyl: Sloth - Live Slow

Vinyl: Out back dancing with dragonflies

Here's how to make these glass block night lights:

1. Clean the front of the glass block and let dry. Apply the Peel & Stick Holographic Paper to the front of the block.

2. Apply the self-adhesive graphic or quote vinyl on top of the holographic paper. We have many pre-cut vinyl designs and quotes to choose from, but if you can't find what you're looking for, make sure to stop by our Photo Imaging Center where they can create custom designs for you.

3. Insert the battery-operated FireFly light strand inside the block. That's it!

Vinyl: Garden fairies come at dawn, bless the flowers, then they're gone.

Vinyl: Mermaids

Until June 30, 2017, our 30-count Firefly Lights are ONLY $5.00! The regular price is $12.99, so this is a great time to stock up!

Here's a little more information about the Holographic Paper. It peels & sticks to your surface! Measures 6" x 6". There's 1 sheet per package. This specialty paper changes colors that appear to move as light hits the paper. This holographic paper is great to get people's attention on signs, posters, school bulletin boards, scrapbooks, displays, and so much more.

Our 7.5" x 7.5" hollow glass blocks are a great vessel for battery-operated lights.

  1. Would like to buy the Holographic paper online if it's possible or at least get a link as to where to get it. I'm out of state 10 months out of the year.
