DIY Signature Mat for Graduation

If your son or daughter is graduating this spring, this personalized signature mat will be a must during the graduation celebrations and parties. What's nice about this Signature Mat is that you can make it in your school colors!

Here's what you'll need:
Supplies available at our Ben Franklin Crafts store in Monroe, WA.
1 - 16" x 20" canvas
1 - 8" x 10" canvas
Acrylic paint in your school colors
Foam brush
Making tape
Self-Adhesive Vinyl "Class of 2015"
E2000 glue
Mod Podge
1 photo

Let's get started...
1. Paint the small canvas with the color of your choice. We painted it black. Let dry. When it's dry, adhere the photo using mod podge as your glue and as your sealer. (Here's a video on how to apply Mod Podge). Let dry. Once it's dry, adhere the vinyl to the front of the photo. Here's more information on how to apply vinyl.

2. Use tape to create the lines on the big canvas. Paint the revealed areas with the colors of your choice. We used orange and black. Let everything dry completely.

3. Glue the small canvas in the middle of the big canvas. You may want to put a heavy object on it to hold it down while it dries.

If you don't have the time to make your own Signature Mat, we have some ready-made ones in local school colors.
