Decorated Wood Candle Holders

Here's another super easy project done using the Kissing Booth paper collection by Simple Stories. Is it obvious that we really like this collection?  Oh yes we do!

We took our natural finish wood block candle holders (which come in 2 sizes) and gave it a completely new look. You could make it using any color of paper you want. Since Valentine's Day is in a week, we thought we'd use a combination of pink, red and black colors.

We painted the blocks with pink acrylic paint. Let it dry. Then use sand paper to distress the edges. While your blocks were drying, that's a good time to cut the paper. Put your block on your paper and trace around it. When it's time to cut, make sure to cut about 1/4" inside the line. This will allow a nice border to show around your paper. Use Mod Podge to glue the paper on the block. (we suggest brushing Mod Podge on both the back of the paper and the block surface. This helps the two to adhere to each other securely). Once it's completely dry, add any embellishments that you'd like. We added a small paper doily, baker's twine, and small silk flowers.

The Kissing Booth paper collection and candle holder blocks are on sale now through Fri. February 15, 2019. View our entire sale flyer here (PFD).
