DIY White Washed Wood Board Decoration for Mom

To help you make this Mother's Day one that you and your mother will cherish for years to come, we have turned to our in-store designers to create an easy handmade gift which includes a powerful message: "MOM makes our house a HOME".

This 11" X 30" X 1.5" white washed board is ready for you to decorate. You don't have any prep work to do, it's already gorgeous by itself. With a few simple accessories, you'll turn this board into a piece of art that mom will love to display in her home. Another great thing about this project is that the supplies are on sale until May 8, 2016. VIEW OUR SALE FLYER HERE.

Add the "MOM makes our house a HOME" self-adhesive vinyl directly on the board. We also glued a small decorative bird to the board to add a 3D effect.

We have a great selection of unfinished bird houses, but we decided to go with this one. Paint it with acrylic craft paint in the color of your choice. Try to match it with your mother's decor, she'll love that extra detail.

For the front of the bird house, we adhere (using Mod Podge as our glue) this beautiful decorative paper from the "Secret Garden" paper collection by BoBunny. There's a lot of different designs, so choose something that you think your mom would enjoy.

All you now have to do is attach the bird house with a nail directly in the wood board. We also added a few hooks. You don't need to add the hooks, but this way she could use it in the bathroom to hang towels, the mud room to hang jackets, the entrance to hang keys, or anywhere in her house.
