DIY Subway Art using Hazel and Ruby Stencil Masks

We're very excited to show you the new Hazel & Ruby collection. If you haven't heard of it yet, it consists mainly of over-sized Stencil Masks and Designer Tissue Paper. One thing we like to do with these stencils is to create fun subway-style art! The new Hazel and Ruby Stencil Masks are so simple to use! To help you out, they added some instructions in the package. But we thought we'd show you a few steps to get you excited!

12" x 12" Canvas

All you'll need to make this project is a 12" x 12" canvas, a photo frame, some Hazel & Ruby Wrap It Up sheets of Designer Tissue Paper and the Re-positionable Stencil Masks. Other supplies you'll need are some acrylic paints, Mod Podge, foam brushes and scissors.

Use the Mod Podge as your glue and adhere the tissue to the canvas. Once your surface is covered, we sealed with another layer of Mod Podge (let dry) and then start placing the letters and shapes! These are so cool!!! They peel-away like butter. Seriously! They are 100% re-positionable and re-useable, so it’s SO EASY to create your design.

Now it's time to paint! Just squirt paint directly onto your canvas or frame. Use your brush to cover your surface (as much or as little as you want).

Now for the fun part, peel away the shapes and letters to reveal your finished art.  Once peeled off the canvas, they go back on to the storage sheet and can be wiped clean with a baby wipe, ready to go for your next project.
