Skull and Candlestick Project

This project is quick and easy! Glue the candlestick to the skull, coat with tacky glue and cover with glitter! Scroll down for full instructions.
Plastic skull and wood candlestick
SUPPLIES:
  • 4” Plastic Skull
  • Unfinished Wood Candlestick
  • Black Glitter
  • Glitter Tray
  • Black Acrylic Paint
  • Tacky Glue
  • Small Plastic Cup
  • Medium Flat Wash Paint Brush
  • E6000

DIRECTIONS:
  1. After removing all pricing stickers, glue plastic skull to wood candlestick (using your E6000). Gluing Tip: Add a stream of glue on the top of the wooden candlestick and allow to sit for 5 minutes. Then add your plastic skull to the tacky portion of the glue. This will cause your skull to stick and dry much faster.
  2. Once completely dry, use your black acrylic paint tocover the entire skull and candlestick. You may use two coats if desired.
  3. Fill your plastic cup with 1 inch of tacky glue. (I added 1 tsp. of water to thin out the glue.)
  4. With your paint brush mix water until glue has a good consistency. Now cover the entire project with glue. (This process has to be done quickly for the glue will begin to dry in some areas.)
  5. Using your glitter tray, place tacky project in the tray and begin to pour glitter over the entire project. (You will have to turn and stand the project up until it is completely covered in glitter.) If some areas did not grab as much as others, please allow your project to completely dry. Then shake off excess glitter and add more glue and repeat the process.)
  6. Once your skull is completely dry, shake off extra glitter and display.
