DIY Mini Slat Quote using Carta Bella Paper

Our designers made another adorable project using the new "Spring Market" paper collection by Carta Bella. Take a look at our previous blog post to see the Heart Slat Herb Garden project they made last week. It's so pretty! Today they created this easy wood slat decoration in under 30 minutes.

You'll need our mini 8" x 8" slat board. (They're on sale now for $2.50, reg. $3.99 - sale ends May 13, 2018).  Take the scrapbook paper that you selected and place it on the board. Use a sharp knife to cut lines through the slats and around the board. This will give you 4 pieces that will fit perfectly on the slats.  Use Mod Podge to glue the paper to the board. Use a foam brush to apply one coat on the wood, and one coat on the back of the paper. Now place the paper on the wood. You'll have time to move the paper in place before it dries. Then add another coat of Mod Podge on the top to seal and protect your project.

The 4" x 6" card sheets from the "Spring Market" paper collection are perfect to create this project. (and they're great to make cards too! Just glue it to the front of a blank card, and voila! you have a handmade card with a beautiful quote).

Cut each card off the 12"x12" sheet. Take the "When you love what you have, you have everything you need" and either glue it using Mod Podge to the front of the board  (like we did above), or you can add self-adhesive double-sided 3D foam dots to the back and this will elevate the piece once glued to the project and give it a dimensional look. We glued it in an angle to give it a more interesting look. To finish it off, we added self-adhesive decorative pearls to the quote card, 3 in each corner. See the model for placement. Your project is ready to hang!
