Here are the supplies and tools you'll need:
Canvas (size of your choice)
Blue Acrylic Paint
Dark Green Acrylic Paint
Foam Brush
Paint Brush
Vinyl Words "You Are My Sunshine"
Crayola Crayons (orange, red and yellow colors)
Paper or Silk Flowers
Newspaper or Craftpaper
Hot Glue Gun
Heat Gun
You may want to cover your work surface with newspaper or craft paper, this could easily get messy. We recommend using a Heat Gun instead of a hair dryer for best result. But if you decide to go ahead and use a hair dryer instead, make sure to test to see which setting works best for melting the crayons before you get started on your project.
Let's get started...
1. Apply the blue paint to the canvas using the foam brush. We used the color blue to make it look like a sky. Let it dry completely.
2. We'll start by creating the sun in the upper left corner by using the heat gun to melt some of the crayons and spread the wax around in a round shape. Then using the hot glue gun, glue the crayons to the canvas to form the outer edge of the sun with the tips facing down.
3. Have someone hold the canvas up on your work table to make sure the wax melts downwards. Use the heat gun to melt the tips of the crayons until the wax pools, then with the heat gun direct the melted wax downwards to create the sun rays. Do that with each crayon. Let dry.
4. Use the paint brush with the green paint to create the flower stems. Then glue the flowers on the stems. .
