DIY Butterfly Kisses Frame Display

We love to make decorations for girls' bedrooms. This DIY photo display is so adorable that we know for sure that your little princess will love to show her favorite picture in it for everyone to see! Everything used here comes unfinished. You'll need 2 wood blocks of different sizes, 1 shadowbox, 1 wood butterfly, 1 set of the vinyl "butterfly kisses" self-adhesive words.

The first thing to do will be to paint everything with white acrylic paint. Let dry completely before moving on to the next step. Next you'll want to glue paper to the block sides using Mod Podge. The paper we used is part of the Pebbles Spring Fling collection from American Crafts. To measure your paper pieces, simply place your block with the surface you want to cover face down on your paper. Trace around to create your pattern. We like to cut the paper a little smaller - something like 1/8" smaller. The reason we do that is that once it's glued on your block, it will allow you to see the white background which creates a border around your paper.

Once all your paper is glued in place, apply another coat of Mod Podge to the surface. This will seal and protect your project. Once it's all dry, apply the self-adhesive vinyl words. Add your favorite picture! It's ready to display!
