DIY Chalky Finish Jar With a View

There are several things we like about this simple project! It's easy, quick to make and gives you the opportunity to bring the ocean to your decor!

Here are the supplies you'll need to make these beach-themed jars:
• Clear Glass Jars
• Jute
• Americana Decor Chalky Finish Paint by DecoArt Inc.
• Foam Brush
• Self-Adhesive Vinyl - fish and sailboat.  (NOTE: you can also cut your own custom shape by using our Die-Cut Machine with our 100s of dies. Just run a sheet of vinyl through and voila, you have your own custom die cut shape. To learn more about our Die-Cut Machines, CLICK HERE.

Apply the vinyl to the jar where you want the opening to be. Use the brush to apply the Americana Decor Chalky Finish Paint. You may want to apply two coats depending on the coverage. You don't need to apply a primer. And for this project, you don't even need to apply the wax. Let dry completely.

Once dry, simply peel off the vinyl. This will create an opened clear area that allows to see inside the jar. To finish it off, simply wrap jute around the top of the jar. Tie a knot to secure. Or another option would be to glue the jute in place all along the wrap.
