DIY Mother's Day Jewelry Tray

Blog post by Brigitte Lee

Mother's Day is a great time for me to get my creative juices running because I love to make handmade gifts for my mom. She treasures them with so much love. I know that even with the distance that separates us, those gifts will remain displayed in her home for years to come.

One of the gifts that I really enjoyed making this year is this simple JEWELRY TRAY. I used Ben Franklin's unfinished wood tray and unfinished wood knobs that I painted a dark purple. This will match perfectly with the beautiful colors in the paper that I have chosen to cover parts of the tray.

This beautiful scrapbook paper (scroll down to see samples) is filled with flowers of bright purple, blue and white. This is the "Secret Garden" paper collection by BoBunny.

Simply trim the paper to fit the sides of your tray, and the bottom. Glue it on using Mod Podge as your glue. Here's a video tutorial on how to apply Mod Podge - CLICK HERE.

Once your paper is dry, glue the wood knobs to the bottom which will create little feet. It's so simple, but gives this jewelry tray the elegance that it needed.

You will fall in love with the beautiful motifs in this paper collection. Click here to learn more about the Secret Garden Paper Collection by BoBunny
