DIY Pedestal Beach Decoration

Have you seen our unfinished wood shadow box pedestals? They are so much fun to decorate! You can paint the wood any color you want, or varnish it, or dye it. Then the fun really starts - it's time to fill it up!

In this project, we brought the ocean a little closer to home by creating a sandy beach display inside the shadow box. Simply open the top of the box. It just slides across. Pour your sand in the bottom and add some shells.  We also added a decorative scrapbook paper in the back by sliding it in and pushing it down in the sand a little bit to make sure it stays in place. Once it's all in there, slide the top back on.

The great thing about this pedestal shadow box is that you can switch the content for different occasions. Imagine all the possibilities!
