Ben Franklin Crafts and Frame Shop, Monroe, WA: Quilts for Heroes 2015

Although the opinions of Americans often differ when it comes to politics and foreign policy, there is one fact that is indisputable: fighting for our country takes great strength of character, extreme patriotism, and enormous commitment. It is time that we, as quilters, choose to give back to these brave men and women who fight for our individual freedoms.

Ben Franklin Crafts in Monroe, WA, is pairing up with American Hero Quilts, right here in Washington State to get as many quilts as possible to Madigan Army Medical Hospital at Fort Lewis and to their new long-term care facility, the Warrior Transition Center.

We will be accepting finished quilts and quilt tops through the end of June 2015 (entry is now closed). Then they will be displayed throughout the store during the month July for judging by our customers. On August 1st, 2015, at our Saturday Sampler event, three winners will be announced. All entrants are encouraged to attend.

There will be 4 awards presented:
1st Place in voting, $75 gift certificate.
2nd Place in voting, $50 gift certificate.
3rd Place in voting, $25 gift certificate
One (1) $25 gift certificate will be by random drawing from the pool of voters.
