DIY Wood Heart Herb Planter

We're excited to introduce this fun (and easy) DIY pallet heart project (which would be a great gift for Mother's Day), but we're also excited about showing you this new paper collection called "Spring Market" by Carta Bella. This herb planter is so easy to make! You'll need to get our 16" wood pallet heart-shaped board which is actually on sale now through May 13, 2018 for $18.97 (reg. $24.99). You don't need to do any painting to it because the board already comes with two tones of wood colors which is super cute by itself.

To give the board a personal touch, we added paper to a few of the slats (cover as many as you want - that's your choice). Simply place your sheet of paper that you selected on top of the wood heart. Take a sharp knife to cut through the slats and around the shape of the heart. Now you have all your paper pieces. Use Mod Podge to glue your paper to the wood. Apply a coat of Mod Podge to both the wood slats, and to the back of the paper. Then place the paper onto the wood. You'll have some time to move the paper to fit it perfectly before the glue dries.  Then apply another coat of Mod Podge to the top to seal and protect it.

To attach the small mason jar to the heart, we drilled 2 holes in the wood and then you'll just thread in a ribbon. Go around the jar and tie it securely. We suggest that you also glue the jar in place with a good amount of E6000 glue to make sure it doesn't fall. Your beautiful Heart Herb Planter is now ready to hang! Hope Mom loves it!
