5 DIY Flamingo Projects

Like everyone else, we are super excited (as you'll see) about the FLAMINGO trend! We have such a great time creating projects for you and hopefully this will inspire you enough that you'll want to make one of these fun projects!

The first one is this gorgeous Flamingo Box. We painted the unfinished wood box with Tim Holtz® Adirondack® Alcohol Inks. Then distressed the edges with a fine grad sandpaper. We wrapped the bottom part of the box with Little B Washi Tape. We finished it off by adding the peel & stick pink vinyl flamingos to the glass lid.

The Polka Dot Flamingo Frame is super easy to make! Open the frame. Adhere the Core'dinations Polka Dots Paper to the back. Close the frame up. Adhere the self-adhesive vinyl flamingo and quote "Be a Flamingo in a flock of pigeons" to the front of the glass.

This Flamingo Oval Wood Plaque was created by Sonja. She printed a flamingo on a piece of paper. Then traced the outline of the flamingo with transfer paper which allowed her to transfer that outline onto the plaque. She glued jute around the flamingo shape. Then she painted the inside with acrylic paint.

This is another super easy and quick project to make! This Flamingo Wood Tray was painted in dark pink first, then we added black paint to the edges. We glued the flamingo paper (which is part of the Imaginisce "Sunny" paper collection) to the bottom of the tray. We used Mod Podge to glue the paper, and applied a top coat to seal and protect the paper. The last thing was to wrap jute around the handles. Use a good strong glue to hold in place. We used E6000.

Our last project is this fun Flamingo Coaster Set! Paint the top of the coasters (and the coaster tray) black using acrylic paint. Trace and cut the paper to fit your coasters (and the front of the tray). We like to cut it a little smaller. This way the black from the coasters will create a border around the paper. Use Mod Podge to glue the paper in place, and apply a top coat to seal and protect the paper.
