TAYCOR, Inc. dba Ben Franklin Crafts & Frame Shop - is a two-store retail operation located in Monroe and Bonney Lake, Washington. It is owned by the Taylor family and established in 1975 by Adrian J. and Deanna J. Taylor. Adrian is a former manager with W.T. Grant retail store operation. His last assignment was manager to the Santa Clara, California, store. Adrian had nineteen years of experience with the W.T. Grant organization, working in or managing thirteen different stores in as many different cities.
TAYCOR has experienced 40 years of successful growth providing crafts, picture-framing, jewelry making, sewing, knitting/crocheting and scrapbooking products to our broad customer base. The Bonney Lake operation is owned and managed by son Adrian C. Taylor. The store was purchased in 1986.
Ben Franklin is also a major employer, providing more than 1000 crafts-related jobs throughout the years to people of all ages. They take special pride in introducing young people to the world of work, as well as providing work opportunities to others that want to work in a fun place close to home.
Other key assets of the company are its exceptional customer service and continual crafting events. Together they bring people of all ages from all walks of life to enjoy and fully participate in craft classes, demonstrations and special events. The store also offers monthly quilting, and scrapbooking clubs.
More than merely serving as a retail store, Ben Franklin Crafts & Frame Shop has become a social and cultural center for people in both store locations. Ben Franklin is now "the place to go" where home taught students can obtain new art education ideas, where families can have great positive fun doing art projects together, where people of all ages can fully explore their creative potentials in a friendly, supportive environment.
The company is also deeply involved as a generous patron and active participant in numerous community and civic projects and activities. During those years they have given back to the community over $300,000 in documented contributions.
Ben Franklin Crafts & Frame Shop's newest projects are the online Ben Franklin e-newsletter, website and social media. Now that more and more people of all ages are getting online it makes sense to move forward. Now it is possible to find information of interest, to enroll in classes, and to take advantage of special offers, with an e-mail-based newsletter and a website.
We are founding members of the 120 store buying group, Sierra Pacific Crafts. This alliance is able to design and specialize in new and different creative items for your home. We send a buying team to the Orient twice a year to design and select merchandise exclusively for you, making us unique in the Craft Industry!
