DIY Lighthouse using BoBunny Boardwalk Paper

The BoBunny Boardwalk Paper Collection offers so many crafting possibilities! Here's a lighthouse that Bonnie made for under $20! Bonnie is always ready to help you with all your crafting questions, so don't hesitate to come in or call her at 360-794-6745 ext. 0.

Here's what you'll need to make this project...
All supplies are available at our Ben Franklin Crafts store in Monroe, WA.
• 2 Small Paper Maché Pots (1 small and 1 medium)
• 1 Glass Jar (that will fit on the bottom of the small pot)
• 1 to 2 sheets of BoBunny Boardwalk Paper "Sunshine"
• 1 small piece of white and also black paper (for windows)
• Already-Made Mini White Picket Fence
• Red Acrylic Paint
• 2 Foam Brushes
• Unfinished Wood Disc (for the lid)
• Unfinished Wood Knob (for the lid)
• Battery-Operated Candle
• Mod Podge Medium
• E6000 Glue
• Hot Glue and Hot Glue Gun

Let's get started...
1. Paint the 2 pots, the wood disc and the knob with the red paint. You may need 2 coats. Let that dry completely. Place your pots with the opening on the table. Now we're ready to move on to the next step.

2. Cut your paper in 1" strips. Using Mod Podge as your glue, apply it on the paper strips and to the pot (do a small section at at time). Layer the strips on the pots by making one end meet at the bottom of the pot right before the rim. Overlap the other end of the strips at the top of the pot. (remember that you turned the rim down on the table in step 1).  Because the bottom of the pot is larger, you'll need to overlap at the top where it's smaller. Cover the entire pots with the paper. Let this dry completely.

3. To make the windows, we simply used our die-cut machine (free to use when you purchase your supplies here) to cut a black rectangular shape of paper and a frame shape in white. Glue them one on top of the other (black first, then frame on top) using Mod Podge or hot glue. To make the door, you can use the same process, but cut the door out of the BoBunny Paper, and cut a white square a little larger to glue behind it. Once all your windows and the door is glued on, brush a coat of Mod Podge to both pots to seal the paper and protect your project.

4. Now it's time to assemble our lighthouse! Glue the fence to the bottom rim using the hot glue. While you have the hot glue gun warmed up, glue the wood knob to the wood disc. To glue the pots and glass jar together, we used E6000 glue.  Let dry completely. Once it's dry, you can add the battery-operated candle in the jar. Note: The lid will just sit on the jar, it will not close tight.
