DIY Vintage Paper Mache Box using Graphic 45 Couture Paper

Jeanette, from our Bonney Lake store, created this beautiful vintage box using the Graphic 45 "Couture" scrapbook paper.

Vintage Paper Mache Box - Graphic 45 Couture Paper Collection

Supplies:
Graphic 45 "Couture" Scrapbook Paper
Paper Maché Box
Mod Podge
Glue OR Hot Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
Knob
4 Miniature Wooden Spools
Light Blue D&C Floss
Tan Acrylic Paint + Paint Brush
Blue Lace - about 19" long
Strand of Mini Pearls 18" long
Package of Mini Flowers

Directions:
Paint the box with the tan acrylic paint. Allow to dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Wind the blue floss around each thread spool until completely covered. Secure the end. Glue one spool to each corner of the box bottom and allow to dry.

Place the paper maché box on the scrapbook paper and trace out your templates for all four sides and top. You can use the same paper design, or use a different design for the top like we did. Cut your paper pieces.

Apply Mod Podge on the surface of your box (one area at a time). This will be used to glue your paper to the box. Repeat this process for all sides and top. Allow to dry. You can add a coat of Mod Podge to seal it.

Glue the blue lace to the edge of the box lid. Next, glue the string of pearls over the lace and glue one flower to each corner of the box lid. You can use hot glue to do this, or your favorite glue. To finish it off, just glue the knob to the top of the box. Allow to dry before using.
